Welcome, baby Sophie Louise!

I am elated to announce you the arrival of Mr and Mrs Brant’s precious baby daughter, Sophie Louise, who was born on 23rd October, weighing 3.1kg. On behalf of the BSB Infant School Family, I would like to send our warmest congratulations to the Brant Family. I wish the family a lifetime of love, health, laughter and happiness together.

Here is a photo of baby Sophie meeting her big sister, Olivia.

National Museum Trip

The Year 2 children have enjoyed an exciting trip to the National Museum this week. This has been a fabulous opportunity for the children to enhance their learning about Bahrain, Bahraini culture and traditions. The children saw many exciting exhibits and returned to school with lots of information and learning.

Sick Children

Dear Parents,

We have had a few instances lately where children have developed a fever later in the day and, therefore, have been taken to the nurse and sent home. It has come to light that actually the children have presented a fever earlier in the day but they have been given a dose of Calpol at home before they have come to school. As the effects of the Calpol have worn off, the fever has risen again.

If your child has a fever in the morning, please DO NOT give them medication and send them to school. This is precisely when they are most infectious and, as a result, are very likely to spread the illness to other children and staff.

Please see below a friendly reminder of our school guidelines which state that you should NOT send your child to school if they have the following:

  1. Fever
  2. Vomiting
  3. Diarrhoea
  4. Strep Throat
  5. Bad cold with a very runny nose or a bad cough, especially if it has kept the child awake at night.
  6. Head lice – live bugs or nits (lice eggs)
  7. Skin rash
  8. Pink eye

Students with the symptoms listed above need to stay home for 24 hours after the symptoms subsist. If these symptoms remain for longer than a day, contact your doctor to see if your child needs to be evaluated.

With these guidelines, we mean to serve the best interests of all the children and staff in our school.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Infant School Nurse.

Best regards.

Congratulations to all our ‘Super Stars’ this week!
