Week Commencing 18th March
We are continuing our work on stories until the end of term. The Enormous Turnip is another story that we are covering and one that you might like to read at home. It is a lovely story to act out with simple paper puppets and this is something we have been doing together at school. If you would like to have a go at home, please follow the link to get a downloadable sheet of the characters in the story that your child can cut out and play with.
Developing our Rhyming Skills
This week you can watch the story ‘Oi Frog’ together and talk about which words rhyme. I wonder if you can find some things at home that rhyme as well? If you do and they are small enough, please do send them in with your child and we will share them together during our circle times :)\
Our maths focus this week will be bigger and smaller and comparing different sized objects. We will be trying to introduce additional vocabulary as well such as large, enormous, gigantic, huge, little, and tiny.
The children in Arabic class will learn:
- Topic: Farm Animals (sheep).
- Read and color the letter Dal (د).
- Pronounce at least 3 words that contain the letter.
We will learn about the sheep habits & where it lives eats.
الذئب والخراف السبعة.
Arabic Mother’s Day
Arabic Mother’s Day will be held on Thursday 22nd March.
All Mummies are invited to the class at 11:40 that day to come and listen to a short song and to complete a themed craft with their child in their classroom.
International Day & Last Day of Term
International day will be held on Wednesday 28th March, the last day of term. The children dress up in traditional dress or the colours from their home countries flag. This will be a shorter day than normal (time to be confirmed).
Trip to the Theatre
The Very Hungry Caterpillar trip is on Monday 16th April. All the children should be at school by 7:45 and the classroom door will be open from 7:30 for that day. This is so we can get onto the bus and depart from school by 8am.
