For week commencing Sunday, 15th April
We will be studying a wonderful visual literacy story for the next few weeks. A story where the characters surprise us, we might change our opinions of them. A nice lesson in life. The children will learn about the characters, explore and evaluate the decisions the characters made and then answer comprehension questions to show their understanding of each character.
At home, can you make a list of adjectives to describe good characters and a list to describe bad characters?
We continue to learn about position and direction this week. Many of the children still confuse their left and right hands/directions. This is something to practise at home. The children will again rehearse the language of direction and turns then apply this to shapes; making shape patterns by turning the shapes.
We will also explore some word problems involving the positional language.
After our waxworks museum starter last week, the children will begin to learn more about exploration and journeys. They will learn about journeys made in the past and compare these to fictional journeys in story books. Additionally, the children will begin their new DT project which involves sewing.
