Week Commencing 6th May
This week is the culmination of our ‘Under the Sea’ topic and we will be finishing with a rumbustious celebration for our swashbuckling Pirate Day on Thursday 10th May. To get in the mood, see what Meg and Mog get up to in this episode where they run into some not so friendly pirates. How will they get away?!
As part of our pirate theme this week we will be looking at the special words that only pirates use, as well as the way that they say them. We are all going to practice having a bit of a pirate swagger and a pirate tone of voice! If you want to get a head start with some special ‘pirate’ language, have a go at the song below… we’ll be practising our pirate phrases in class too 🙂
We will be exploring treasure maps and how to give directions so we can find the way to the ‘X’ on the map. You never know, we may even find some real treasure!
In Arabic we will be learning:
- Topic: Shapes (Circle)
- Read and color the letter wow (و)
- Pronounce at least 3 words that contain the letter
- Colour: White
- Song: shapes song
Pirate Day – Thursday 10th May
Pirate Day will be on Thursday 10th May. We are challenging you and your children to make a homemade pirate costume (no pre-bought costumes please). Your children have shown us how imaginative and creative they can be so it would be great if you could work on this project with them at home.
Could you also provide some ‘under the sea’ themed party food for the day 🙂
