Week Commencing 13th May

topic

First of all, a big thank you to all our parents for the fabulous Pirate costumes and the lovely assortment of food that was provided for our Pirate Day! The children had a fantastic time and there were lots of ‘Aaggghhhhhs’ and ‘Shiver me timbers’ to be heard coming from the different classrooms.

This week we start our new topic which is ‘Space,’ and all things inter galactic! We will be looking at the stars, the moon, and the planets. There will, of course, have to be an odd alien in there as well! To get things started, see what the Storybots have to say about the planets and our solar system 🙂

literacy

In literacy we will be working on building our space vocabulary as well as continuing to strengthen our rhyming skills. We are also working on blending sounds that we hear together to say a word as well as counting out syllables in words.

maths

We are all doing really well at counting up to 10 so now we will be counting down as we blast off into space. You can do it together with our song:

arabic1

The children in Arabic class will learn:

  • Topic: Shapes (Square).
  • Read and color the letter lam (ل).
  • Pronounce at least 3 words that contain the letter.
  • Color: White.
  • Concept: similar and different.

31st May – End of Year Concerts

Our big event is nearly here! Your children have already been practising and learning their songs and dances ready for their day on the stage 🙂 Our costumes are all well under way and the excitement is starting to build!

Please note that we invite 2 adults per child in each class. This is to ensure that we have space for everyone to come and join us and see their child or children. The concerts will take place in the EYFS sports hall which is on the Reception corridor upstairs (above Nursery).

Don’t forget the concerts are scheduled as follows:

  • N1 and N7 at 08:30 – The Gingerbread Man
  • N4 and N5 at 09:30 – Tiddler
  • N2, N3 and N6 at 10:30 – The Grouchy Ladybug

Once children have finished their performance they will return to their classrooms where parents can come and collect them to take them home and celebrate their success 🙂
