As the British School of Bahrain, one of the many things we pride ourselves in is the mutual respect we display to each other’s culture, backgrounds, and most importantly, faith between the BSB community members.
As the holy month of Ramadan begins, the spirit of joy and generosity can be felt all around. During Year 1’s Religious Education class, Ms. Maha paid a visit to explain why Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year for Muslims.
The Infants Arabic department also led a beautiful Ramadan assembly for Year 1 and Year 2 children describing the rich history of Ramadan and the traditions still practised today, such as drumming to signify the start of Iftar, receiving new clothing during Eid, and the importance of fasting. Family, self-reflection, good deeds, and devotion are all words used to symbolize this blessed time.
The month of Ramadan is a special month for many of our families at the BSB. On behalf of the BSB Infant School family, I wish all our Muslim families a blessed and happy Ramadan!
Congratulations to all our ‘Super Stars’ this week!
