Visitors in Year 1
This week, the Year 1 children invited their parents into their classrooms to read and share the fantastic stories they have been writing. The children have been experiencing what it has been like to become an author, not only writing stories, but understanding the need for a blurb and careful consideration as to what has to go on a front cover. The children loved sharing the stories they created with their parents. Thank you to all the adults who came.
Year 2 Topic – Journeys
Year 2 children have been studying methods of transportation during their ‘Journeys’ topic. While investigating various modes of transportation, such as planes, boats and parachutes, the classes decided to test how each one works. The children made predictions about different variables that could affect each transportation method such as size, weight and the use of various materials. One experiment the students completed was researching which material would make the best parachute and then testing each one using eggs and legos. The students were fascinated by the results they concluded.
2.1 Class Assembly
In BSB Infant School we believe that one of the most important jobs we have is to teach, model, and reinforce respect and kindness. In order to help us promote the values of kindness across the school community, children in 2.1 had a heart-warming class assembly this morning.
Here is a lovely video about ‘kindness’ which the children shared with us.
Congratulations to all our ‘Super Stars’ this week!
Wishing everyone a beautiful and relaxing weekend!
