Children have been getting into the swing of things this week and it has been a pleasure to spend more time in the classrooms, getting to know the children a little. I have been impressed by the standard of the children’s writing at the beginning of Year 2 and I enjoyed the refreshing honesty of the children as they talked about their home countries.
I thank the teachers and assistants for their time and effort in making the ‘Sparkly Start’ of the Beautiful Bahrain topic so engaging for the children. The carousel of practical learning opportunities could not have been more accurately pitched.
Come and Join Us
Looking after the children in Reception at break times is not always without its dramas as the children learn to socialise, share toys and take turns. I was lucky enough to witness a lovely moment this morning which reflected the warmth and inclusiveness of the BSB community. You will see in this short clip how an additional child is seamlessly welcomed into a group of children who had already established a game of Ring a Ring of Roses.
Save the Date
Next Wednesday, parents of children in Nursery are cordially invited to a welcome talk in the Early Years sports hall. There will be an opportunity to meet and socialise with other parents of Nursery children and Ms Jess and I will give a short presentation on the way children learn. We hope that as many parents as possible will be able to attend. Your children will be supervised in their classrooms for the duration. Refreshments will be provided.
