Topic: On the Farm
Math: Accurately counting actions e.g. claps, jumps, steps.
Letters and Sounds: Environmental sounds: Recognising noises you hear on the farm
Look what fun all the classes have been having this week learning about the farm.
Some classes have been focusing on the animals you find on a farm. The other classes have been focusing on plants, crops and what grows on a farm.
We will be continuing to work on careful counting. We will be trying to count actions as well as objects and remembering to stop when we have reached the correct amount. It would help if at home you count as you walk up the stairs, or how many segments there are in their orange etc.
We will be moving onto listening to sounds around the farm that not only the animals make but also the tractor, the gate, the windmill etc.
As you know it’s this time of year when all the illnesses surface as the weather changes. We would just like to remind if your child has a fever in the morning, please do not give them medication and send them to school. This is precisely when they are most infectious and, as a result, are very likely to spread the illness to other children and staff. The Panadol does NOT stop the infection.
Please see below a friendly reminder of our school guidelines which state that you should not send your child to school if they have the following:
Students with the symptoms listed above need to stay home for 24 hours after the symptoms subsist. If these symptoms remain for longer than a day, contact your doctor to see if your child needs to be evaluated.
With these guidelines, we mean to serve the best interests of all the children and staff in our school.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Infant School Nurse.
