Nursery Bulletin w/c 18th Nov

This Week

This week was all about the jungle. We packed our backpacks with a hat, snacks, binoculars, sun cream and a camera and set off to discover lots of different animals. I wonder what essentials your child wanted to take to the jungle and what animals they saw?

On Sunday there was a big, exciting thunderstorm and downpour. Quite a few of the children have been asking questions about it. What is thunder? What is lightning? What is a storm? The teachers have done their best to answer all their questions!

The children also practiced their cutting skills and it would be great if they continue practising this at home.

Next Week

Topic: Wild Animals

Maths: Exploring patterns and recognising where they come from

Letters and Sounds: Loud and quiet, fast and slow, high and low sounds

Our song for next week is ‘Animal Boogie’ you can also listen to this at home.

We will also look at how different animals move and try to recreate the movements.

Carnival of the Animals

On Thursday 22nd of November we will be celebrating the end of our animal topic with a dress up day. Your child can come to school dressed as any animal. We love to see homemade costumes. We invite the parents to come and take pictures and listen to a quick song we have been learning between 7:45 and 8:00.

We would also ask you to bring some animal themed food for the children to share for their snack. Please coordinate with your class link to ensure a balance of food options will be there for the children. The majority of choices should be healthy such as fruits, vegetables, sandwiches, and savouries. A simple cup cake or sweet treat is nice to finish with but we want to make sure there aren’t too many sugar options. By ensuring a healthy range of foods is available, this means your child will not need to bring their usual snack on the day. Instead we will share food buffet style.

As the weather is cooling down just a reminder that children should bring to school a school jacket, jumper or cardigan. If they do not have your child’s size in stock then they should wear a plain navy jumper instead. Please remember to label any jumpers or jackets to help us look after your child’s belongings.
